EPDM provides excellent resistant to oxygen and ozone attack, as well as providing good resilience and high heat resistance. This polymer offers very good resistance to polar and oxygenated solvents as well as dilute and concentrated acids and has good releasing characteristics. Durometer range 15–90.

Epichlorohydrin offer solvent, fuel, oil and ozone resistance. The physical properties are good over a wide temperature range, and permeability to gases is low. Duromater range 65–95.

Fluorinated offers excellent resistance to high temperature with low swell in acids, hydrocarbons, oils and gasoline, as well as offering superior resistance to oxidation, ozone, and heat aging. Durometer range 70–80.

Hypalon offer heat and chemical resistance, and can be compounded to withstand a continuous 350 °F. Good general overall covering material. Durometer range 55–80.

Natural Rubber and Polyisoprene compounds generally have very good physical properties, especially resilience and abrasion resistance. Solvent resistance is poor, except to water. Resistance to aging (heat, ozone, oxidation) is poor to fair. Durometer range 40–100.

Neoprene resists many oils and solvents and offers good resistance to air, ozone, aging and oil deterioration. Some swelling occurs in oils, but it is uniform enough to calculate. Neoprene also offer good resistance to dilute acids and bases and has a good coefficient of friction for a good feed or pull roll. Durometer range 20–90.

Nitrile is highly resistant to solvents, fats, petroleum and other oils, and are able to stand heat, abrasion and to remain flexible over a long period of time. Adding vinyl blends improves the aging qualities, release properties and abrasion and ozone resistance. Durometer range 20–100.

Silicone offers excellence release, heat resistance and maintenance of its physical properties as the operating temperature rises. It also has good resistance to cold oxygen and ozone and is a good insulator. Blending silicone with hypalon or ethylene propylene offers additional benefits. Durometer range 40–80.

UV offers excellent solvent resistance and is a good fit for harsh coating applications.
